You can feel ready to take a new step and still be worried about how you will pay the bills.
Perhaps the decision has already been made for you. A job has ended. Your health has changed. Caring for someone you love has reduced the time and energy you have available to earn.
When you are used to providing for yourself and others, receiving help can feel uncomfortable. It can also expose a belief you did not realise you held: everything depends on me.
In Episode 17 of the Fearless One podcast, Provision Is in the Mission, I explore what it means to trust God’s care when your usual sources of security change.
Beginning with Genesis 1:28, we return to identity. God blessed humanity before giving the instruction to be fruitful, multiply and exercise dominion. Our relationship with Him comes before our productivity.
That matters when we are tempted to measure our value by our income, job title or ability to keep everything moving.
We also consider the beliefs that shape what we are willing to receive. God is not powerless, but we can limit the ways we permit Him to work in our lives. If we believe provision must come through our own earnings or one particular opportunity, we may overlook or resist help arriving through another channel.
Through Jesus’ teaching in Matthew 6 and God’s provision for Israel in the wilderness, this episode invites you to surrender your expectations, seek His direction and take the next faithful step.
As you listen, consider:
• Where have I confused my ability to earn with my worth to God?
• Have I decided that provision must come through one particular route?
• What help or instruction might I need to receive?
• What is the next step I can take with what God has already given me?
