Do you want to know the one thing you must do this year?
I’m about to tell you what it is.
Hello Fearless One, and Happy New Year.

If this is the first time you’ve landed here, let me introduce myself. My name is Nerissa Golden. I was born on the absolutely stunning island of Montserrat, but I’ve been blessed to call many beautiful islands and a few countries home. I am a mother, an author, and a strategist, and my work is centred on one thing: empowering you to discover who you were created to be and to accomplish all that God has destined for your life.
As 2025 raced to an end, I found myself reviewing my to-do list—the ideas, goals, and projects that hadn’t been checked off. Naturally, my thoughts turned to 2026.
Should I continue what I’d started?
Should I let some things go and begin something new?
As I tried to evaluate where my energy should go, I realised something uncomfortable: I couldn’t clearly see what to take off the list. Everything felt urgent. Everything felt necessary—even the things that probably weren’t.
So I prayed.
And as I asked the Holy Spirit to direct my path, one scripture settled deeply in my spirit:
“But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.” — Matthew 6:33 (KJV)
Immediately, I felt relief.
I didn’t need a long list.
I didn’t need a complicated strategy.
I only needed to do one thing: seek God first.
This was something I had already committed to in the final six months of 2025. The revelation was simple but powerful. I didn’t need to reinvent my plans. I needed to continue practising what I had already started.
When I focus on seeking God’s will for my life rather than pushing my own agenda, He takes responsibility for adding what is needed.
This scripture is often interpreted as God’s promise of provision—house, health, job, finances. And it absolutely is that. But I also believe it speaks to priority. To order. To alignment.
And here’s the truth: even if you’re not a believer in Jesus, this principle still applies.
In that case, I would interpret it this way:
Identify the singular thing that brings you the deepest sense of joy and fulfilment and put that first.
Give it your primary attention. Where possible, give it the first part of your day.
Often, it’s not the thing you make money from. But it is the thing tied to your purpose—the work you were created to do.
If you have a book, a screenplay, or an idea stirring inside you, write first thing in the morning. Not after you’ve given your best energy to everyone and everything else.
If your calling is creative—paint, dance, practise your vocals, create content—put it first.
If your joy is found in movement and health, exercise first.
If your calling is centred in family, motherhood, or marriage, use the early hours to prepare your spirit, your mind, and your body for the role you value most.
When you do this, your day shifts.
You feel successful earlier = not because you’ve done everything, but because you’ve honoured the one thing that matters most to your joy and purpose.
God is never going to owe you.
He keeps His promises. He does not fail.
When you surrender your year and your plans,
everything you need, everything that concerns you, and everything that feels heavy will be taken care of.
So here’s to an amazing year.
A year where you feel and see God’s enduring, passionate love for you in every area of your life.
Live Fearless.
