Before I became a published author, I spent years not writing — not because I didn’t have ideas, but because I was worried about all the wrong things:
How would I find a publisher?
Where would I get the money to print my book?
Who would buy it?
Was it even worth reading?
And of course… how could I get on Oprah?
None of those questions had anything to do with the real work — actually writing.
Then technology changed the game.
I realised I didn’t need a traditional publisher.
I didn’t need to print 1,000 copies to make it viable.
And I didn’t need to get on Oprah to reach people — I could connect with readers from my phone.
When that moment came, I was ready. I had written the book, grown a small but loyal audience, and built the confidence to share my work publicly.
Still not on Oprah (yet 😉), but I’ve connected with so many incredible people through their platforms — authors, entrepreneurs, and creatives who share the same heart for purpose-driven work.
Here’s what I’ve learned:
👉 Don’t get stuck worrying about the cost, the how, or the who.
Do the first thing first.
Commit your ways to the Lord.
Write the vision and make it plain.
Live Fearless.
If this speaks to you, my book Live Fearless: A Christian Entrepreneur’s Guide to Life and Business is all about moving beyond fear to build what God placed in your heart — whether it’s a book, a business, or a new beginning.
