How Fearless Are You?

It is Always Day One for Someone

It is always Day One for someone.
The first day they sign up for a social account. The first day of being an entrepreneur. The first day to try something new or return to what matters most.

It’s very easy to compare your Day One with someone else’s ten years in the game.
Marketing makes it look as easy as hiring the right coach, deploying more software and having everything packaged neatly with a bow.

Starting is rarely that tidy. It is quite okay to be in an exploration phase.

Recently, Gary Vee suggested that social media is dead and that we are now entering the era of “interest media.” For many creators, that idea is not new at all.

It has always been interest media.

Long before algorithms dominated our thinking, people started blogs simply to write about what fascinated them or was pre-occupying their thoughts. Technology and its impact. Travel. Food. Parenting. Fashion. Health. A life-changing illness. Or the unique story of the place they called home.

Even when we post for family and friends, we decide what we think they will find most interesting about our lives and share it.

This is the essence of interest media and what makes being in connected spaces enjoyable.

So, if you are just starting, you don’t need to have a funnel, professional shots, a headline that perfectly defines who you are and what you do.

To co-opt the tag from WordPress, simply say Hello World!

Share what matters to you. This is the gift that will keep on giving. You will discover how deeply a topic matters to you. You may find that it resonates with others. New interests will emerge. New connections will form.

Along the way, you will connect with people you may never meet, who will shape and impact your life and thinking in meaningful ways.

If this is your Day One.
Welcome.
We cannot wait to see what you will create and share.
