Each week of the 30-Day Guide to Living Happy includes a Power Move. I wanted to share an important one with you that you will need to have working constantly to meet your financial goals this year.
If the idea of thinking rich rubs you the wrong way then this is an area you will need to work on if you plan to see success in this new year.
Coming from a religious upbringing you hear the bible scripture quoted wrongly that money is the root of all evil. It creates a mental struggle of how can I need money to live but I can’t want it? The scripture says the love of money is the root of evil (1 Timothy 6:10). It is possible to possess money and be wealthy without it possessing you.
One of the ways I worked to change my thinking about wealth was to speak to friends who were more financially stable than I was. They may not have been super rich but they had a different way of thinking about money and wealth and also how they acquired it. In the Caribbean, we don’t talk about money and our issues with it publicly. However, you may need to have conversations with people who can help you with this. Your accountant, a financial adviser, or a business coach.
To expand your business, take that vacation with the family you’ve been dreaming about or to reach some other personal goal you will need money to do it. There is no shame in needing to make more and desiring to earn more money so you can have the life you want.
